Step 5 - Make Your Church Sales Tax Exempt
It's like getting an instant 5-8 percent increase in your church's budget
Day after day churches purchase things for the ministry and pay anywhere between 5%-8.5% sales tax. The truth is that for most churches that should not be so. No pastor in America would refuse an 8% increase in their tithes and offerings. However, too many do refuse such an increase simply by not becoming Sales Tax exempt. It is one of the wisest decisions you can make in the legal establishment of your church. All of the purchases or lease agreements that your church makes exclusively for its own purposes will qualify to receive this exemption. Here is a good example of what this means for your church. if a church in Indianapolis, Indiana purchases a church van for the price of $17,500.00, after calculating the sales tax the total price will be $18,550.00. However, if the church has Sales Tax exemption from the state of Indiana, it will not have to pay the sales taxes. It will save $1,050.00. That is a substantial savings that can be used for other outreach ministries. Why not have the exemption? That is part of being a good steward. If you are ready to get your church off to a good start then now is the time to act. Don't let the time pass you by.
The earlier you start the better you will start. God has given His pastors and leaders stewardship of the finances that His people give each week to the Kingdom. It is by no means prudent to allow time to pass you by each day and not go through all of the steps in this book. We have eliminated all of the information that is not necessary and have created a book that will take you step-by-step through the entire process without burdening you with legal jargon. In most cases, we feel confident that in less than one day you can have the request ready to submit.
